Children need adults who care to be their voice.
Advocating for children can happen at several different levels:
Speak up for the children in your care or in your community
- make sure that every decision is based on what is right for
children; Attend public meetings where funding for child care
services are discussed; Join a professional organization for
teachers, providers, or parents; Volunteer at your local child
care center or program - read to children, assist local providers;
Support the expansion of child care services in your neighborhood;
Get involved in local planning efforts - attend the Orange County
Child Care and Development Council Meetings, call (949) 548-3194
to get the dates and times of meetings; Get involved in State
and Federal advocacy efforts - call some of the organizations
listed below to get involved.
