| In the State of California there are two types
of child care licenses, (a) Family Child Care Home License for
people who work in their own homes caring for children and (b)
Child Care Center License for those who wish to provide child
care services in and out-of-home setting. the entity seeking
a center License can be an individual, a group of people, a
corporation or an institution.

| A child care center is normally operated outside
the licensee’s home and provides non medical care and supervision
to infants, toddlers, preschoolers and/or school-age children
for periods of less than 24 hours per day. These centers are
usually in commercial buildings.

| A family child care home is operated in the
licensee’s own home and provides non medical care and supervision
to 14 or fewer children in a homelike environment for less than
24 hours per day.

Attend a Licensing Orientation meeting. Orientation
meetings are held monthly. Community Care Licensing has two
offices in Orange County, call the Community Care Licensing
Office to make a reservation for the next orientation meeting.
