eGovernment Policies

The following table contains countywide policies, procedures, guidelines and standards for carrying out County business through the use of online channels such as County established websites and social media sites.

Documents are maintained by the County Executive Office, Information Technology Department.

Countywide Social Media Use Policy Framework for Agency/Department social media technology use Agencies/Departments that choose to utilize social media technology to carry out County business.
Social Media Use Guidelines Responsibility and behavior guidelines for employees performing social media activity on behalf of the County County workforce members responsible for representing the County through the use of social media technology and forums.
Social Media Approved Networks and Standards Provides the list of social networks approved for County Agency/Department use and establishes standards for account setup and site requirements Agencies/Departments that choose to utilize a specific social media site to carry out County business.
Social Media Policy Compliance Checklist Assists Agencies/Departments determine if their social media use is in compliance with the County’s Social Media Use Policy. Agencies/Departments that use social media networks.
Social Media Network Account Log Template Retain a record of social networks established on non-county owned or administered Systems. Agencies/Departments that choose to establish County related social network accounts on external Systems.
Social Networking Site Risk Assessment Matrix Rating Matrix used to rate an individual social networking site’s potential risk to the County and determine if network meets requirements to be placed on the County’s Approved Social Media Network List. Used by the County Executive Office to review and approve individual social networks for Countywide use.
eGovernment Appropriateness of Content Policy Establishes general direction for County electronic content intended for public view and use. Agencies/Departments that develop publically distributed electronic content and/or communicate with the public online.
eGovernment Comment Policy Establishes policy and user terms for County online sites that allow and display comments from the public. Agencies/Departments that establish and maintain County online sites that permit public comment.
eGovernment Disclaimers Policy County Website and Social Media Site Use Disclaimers intended to limit County liability for providing information through these channels. For public view on all County websites and /or social media sites.
eGovernment “Look and Feel” Standards and Policy Board adopted standards for County websites in the areas of County identity, design, navigation and global content requirements. Agencies/Departments that establish and maintain County Department websites.
eGovernment Internet Links Policy Addresses the relationship of the County to public and private organizations to which it provides website links for users. Agencies/Departments that establish and maintain County Department websites that contain links to external resources.
eGovernment Privacy and Security Policy Inform County website users of the County’s online information practices. For public view on all County websites.
eGovernment Acceptable Use Policy Inform County website users of the terms for using County websites. To be displayed on all County websites.
