Other Things to Consider

Recent Benefits Events since October 2016:

If you were recently hired, retired, promoted, or had a change in employment status that affects your benefits your event may be in the process of being transitioned from the old Benefits Center to the new Benefits Center.
  • If you did not make your elections prior to 12/31/16 and did not make an election for 2017 during Open Enrollment please call the Benefits Center at 1-800-858-7266 and a Benefits Specialist can assist you (in some cases further research and data verification may be required before you make final elections, however a Benefits Specialist will escalate for research and resolution).
  • If you made an election and received a correct Benefits Confirmation Statement reflecting your 2017 coverage nothing further is required from you at this time.  To verify your coverage you can call or visit the Benefits Center website -

Retirees with Medicare Part B:
Retirees who are paying more than the standard rate for the Medicare Part B premium will be sent a letter with instructions for submitting documentation to receive the higher reimbursement.  Once documentation is provided to the Benefits Center adjustments will be reflected on the February pension check.

Monthly Direct Billing - New retirees, employees on unpaid leave of absence, COBRA participants:

  • Billing statement for January were mailed the last week of December
  • The January premium due date has been extended to February 15, 2017

If you have questions or concerns, need further assistance and a Benefits Specialist was unable to assist you please leave a message on the Employee Benefits Message Line at 714-834-6282 and an Employee Benefits representative will return your call within 1 business day.
