Library Programs:
The Aliso Viejo Library is proud to offer continuous programming throughout the year. Below are the regularly scheduled programs. Additionally, the library offers one-time programs through the generous support of the Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library and The City of Aliso Viejo.
Adult Programs
- The Adult Book Group meets the third Tuesday of every month at 10:30am.
- The Sunday Matinee is on the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm. The films shown are from the Film Movement series.
- The Evening Philosophy Club meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Teen Programs
- The Teen Anime Club meets the fourth Monday of each month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
- The Teen Advisory Board gives teens a chance to help create programs for the library while earning volunteer service hours. The Board meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 4:30 pm.
- The Teen Tutors meet each Thursday from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. while school is in session. These National Honors Society students offer homework help for fellow high school and middle school students.
Children's Programs
- Preschool Story time - Story time for children 3 1/2 to 6 is offered in nine-week sessions Tuesday afternoons at 1:15 p.m.
- Toddler Story time for babies up to three year olds, with an adult, is held in nine-week sessions Wednesday mornings at 11:00 a.m.
- Toddler Play ‘n’ Learn for babies up to three year olds and an adult offers parents and toddlers a chance to play and interact with educational toys and other toddlers in a safe environment, and is held in nine-week sessions Thursday mornings at 11:00 a.m.
- After School Club Club (stories and crafts) for 1st to 4th graders is held the first Wednesday of each month, October through June, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
- Family Story time with the National Charity League's Sunshine Readers for all ages is held the first Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Summer Months
- Children’s Summer Reading Game: Keep kids reading over the summer! In our four-week game, kids can earn free books and chances to win prizes by reading library books and visiting the library!
- Summer Story times will be held throughout the week - check our schedule for current times.
- School Age Events for kids Kindergarten and up include special performers.
Teen Reading Game: Why should the younger kids have all the fun? The teen reading program is a fun way to keep reading through the summer and earn prizes as well!
Adult Reading Program: You don’t have to stop reading just because you’re all grown up! Read for a chance to win prizes, contribute reviews to help steer other readers toward the good reads, and add an extra edge to reading over the summer!
