Interim Director
Announced For John Wayne Airport
SANTA ANA County
CEO Jan Mittermeier today announced the appointment of
Loan Leblow as interim director of John Wayne Airport.
Leblow will have oversight of all airport activities while
the County looks for a permanent replacement for O. B.
Schooley who has accepted a position with the consulting
firm P&D Aviation. He had been airport director for
four years.
Leblows appointment is effective September 18, Schooleys
last day at the airport.
Leblow is a 17-year employee of the County. She started
her career as an auditor in the office of Auditor-Controller.
In October 1990 when the new JWA terminal was opened,
she was outstationed to the airport. In January 1996 she
became an airport employee and was appointed deputy airport
director for finance and administration.
"This airport is run by a team that were all
proud of," said Leblow. "Well continue
to get the job done together during this period."
Leblow is a certified public accountant who has a bachelors
degree in accounting and finance from California State
University, Fullerton.
"Ive worked with Loan for many years and I
have complete confidence in her abilities," said
Mittermeier. "Shell do an excellent job while
we conduct a search for a permanent airport director.
The fact that Loan has chosen not to be a candidate for
the job ensures that no current County employee gets the
advantage of holding the interim position during the selection
process."
Mittermeier said that the County will look nationwide
for a new airport director. A search firm has not yet
been named.
