Forum on Workforce Plan
State Holds Public Forum on Workforce
Plan (SANTA ANA) The state of California invites
the public to comment on the future direction of its workforce
during a public review forum from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,
February 24 at the County of Orange Community Services
Agency, 1300 South Grand Ave., Building B, in Santa Ana.
The forum will give the public an opportunity to review
the California Integrated Workforce Development Plan produced
under the terms of the Regional Workforce Preparation
and Economic Development Act of 1997 (RWPEDA). The act
creates a partnership between the Superintendent of Public
Instruction, the Chancellor of the California Community
Colleges, the Secretary of Health and Welfare, and the
Secretary of Trade and Commerce. The goal of the act is
to unite services that can lead to self-sufficiency with
those who need those skills.
The plan, which is still a work in progress, identifies
the people to be served and the services and strategies
that need to be established to prepare all Californians
to enter the workforce.
For further information on the forum contact Linda Edelman
at (714) 541-7859 or visit the RWPEDA website at http://www.regcolab.cahwnet.gov.
To RSVP to attend, contact May Joves at (714)-541-7865.
