(SANTA ANA) - The Countys
Animal Care Services will hold an open house from 10 a.m.
5 p.m., April 9 at its facility located at 561

the new, Sunday opening at the facility. The public can

extended hours when the closing time is 7 p.m. New features
at the center include the new Dog Walk for exercising

During the open house, volunteers and staff will conduct
tours of the center including the Dog Walk and Cat Pavilion.
Other activities will include presentations on dog training
techniques, a pet first-aid demonstration and wildlife
exhibit. The highlight will be cats, kittens, dogs and
puppies that are ready for adoption. Refreshments will
be sold by Explorer Post 538. The Animal Assistance League
will sponsor an opportunity drawing.
"We encourage people of all ages to join us for this
informal community gathering," said Russ Patton,
Interim Director of the Animal Care Center. "This
open house gives us an opportunity to welcome the community
and to remind them that we are open seven days a week
to place animals for adoption and to help pet owners retrieve
lost pets."
