Julie Fredericksen
Named Programs Administrator
The Orange County Public Library (OCPL)
has announced the promotion of Julie Fredericksen, Branch
Manager for the Rancho Santa Margarita Library, to the
position of Programs Administrator effective Friday, April
7, 2000.
In her new position, Fredericksen will oversee management
of OCPL's Children's Services and Community Relations
departments. She replaces Lynn Eisenhut, who was recently
promoted to South Regional Manager for OCPL.
Fredericksen received her B.A. in English from UC Irvine,
and her Master's degree in Library Science from San Jose
State University. After working as a library page, and
later, Children's Librarian for the Santa Ana Public Library,
she joined OCPL in 1993 as a Children's Specialist for
the San Clemente Branch, later becoming branch manager
for Stanton, La Habra, and Rancho Santa Margarita libraries.
County Librarian John Adams notes, "Julie is an outstanding
librarian and a valuable member of our organization. We
are confident she will continue to provide our communities
with the excellent children's library services they now
enjoy."
Fredericksen says she is excited about her new position.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back into
children's services, working with the Children's Librarians
as well as the library programs. I plan to promote the
young adult library programs more actively throughout
the Orange County system," she noted.
Fredericksen enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and dining,
and makes her home in Corona with her husband Doug.
