County Remembers
Airport Planner
(Santa Ana) - The Board
of Supervisors adjourned its meeting yesterday in memory
of Ron Ahfeldt, County consultant and senior vice president
of P&D Aviation. Ahfeldt died of unknown causes in
his sleep on the evening of December 3. He was 55 years
old.
The County and the Board have had the opportunity to work
with Ahfeldt in his role as a consultant to the Local
Redevelopment Authority. He worked for P&D Aviation
for 32 years.
"Ron was highly regarded in the aviation industry
for both his impressive knowledge of airport planning
and his professionalism," said Board Chairman Charles
V. Smith. "Those who knew him well knew him as a
man who placed his faith and his family above all else.
"Ahfeldt is survived by his wife, Mary Pat, and four
children. He is a graduate of UCLA and lived with his
family in Manhattan Beach."
"He was loved and will be missed by many," said
Smith.
A Mass and reception will be held at 10 a.m. on December
8 at the American Martyrs Catholic Church, 624 15th Street,
Manhattan Beach. ###
