Community Leaders
To Discuss Developing Affordale Housing
(Santa Ana)
Obtaining community and government support for creating
affordable housing and homeless shelters will be the topic
of the July 17 Continuum of Care Community Forum.
Participants from non-profit organizations, state agencies,
Orange County cities and County agencies will attend.
The meeting will be at 1:30 p.m., July 17 at the LA Times
Mirror meeting room, 1375 Sunflower Avenue, Costa Mesa.
Co-sponsors of the meeting are the County Executive Office,
Orange County Homeless Issues Task Force and the Shelter
& Hunger Partnership of Orange County.
Some of the subjects to be covered are avoiding NIMBY-ism
(Not in My Back Yard), developing relationships with local
governments and neighborhood associations, plus measuring
and documenting success in service provision.
Also on the agenda is a presentation to Sheriff Michael
Carona for his support of the armory emergency shelter
program.

meeting that will provide excellent information to those
interested in shelters and affordable housing, said
