To Discuss Upcoming SuperNOFA Homeless Assistance Application
(Santa Ana) Representatives from
non-profit organizations, state agencies, Orange County
cities and County agencies will meet March 20 to discuss
the Year 2000 application for the Super Notice of Funding
Availability (SuperNOFA) for Continuum of Care Homeless
Assistance funding. The Department of Housing and Urban
Developments (HUD) application deadline is May 31.
The meeting will be at 1:30 p.m., March 20 at the LA Times
Mirror meeting room, 1375 Sunflower Avenue, Costa Mesa.
Co-sponsors of the meeting are the County Executive Office,
Orange County Homeless Issues Task Force and the Shelter
& Hunger Partnership of Orange County.
"Although the HUD grants are always extremely competitive,
Orange County has successfully received $13 million over
the past two years," said Karen Roper, Homeless Prevention
and Related Programs Coordinator for the County. "Even
though we have received funding for the past two years,
there are still gaps in our system of care. Agencies are
encouraged to apply for these funds so that Orange County
can fill gaps in the system of care through the provision
of additional services and shelter for homeless individuals
and families. Anyone who is interested in the results
of the Year 2000 Homeless Needs Assessment, or in applying
for these funds should plan on attending this meeting."
In addition, Shelter Partnership of Los Angeles will discuss
Creative SuperNOFA Collaboration at the meeting, and the
Future Search Network will be facilitating small group
discussions on improving and increasing collaboration
among agencies in Orange County.
Because seating is limited, guests are asked to confirm
attendance by calling 714.247.1207.
