Planning & Development
Services Proposes New Fee Schedule
Based On Time And Materials Cost Recovery
"This would be the first fee increase
in a decade," Leaman explained. "In fact, in
1999 and 2001, the fees were lowered by nearly one-third
and the County subsequently returned more than $1 million
to 1,363 applicants who had paid fees in the previous
six months. Now, with rising costs to County departments,
it's time to adjust to a real cost-based system for better
tracking as well as equity."
A public hearing on the proposal will take place Jan.
28 at the Board of Supervisors meeting at the Hall of
Administration (HOA) at 9:30 a.m. Information on the proposal
is posted in the lobbies at the HOA, 10 Civic Center Plaza
in Santa Ana, and the Osborne Building, where PDSD is
located, at 300 N. Flower in Santa Ana. Information is
also available at the office of the Clerk of the Board
in the Hall of Administration. Agenda and meeting notices
may also be found on the Board of Supervisors page at
www.oc.ca.gov.

comparable jurisdictions' fees is attached.
