County Names New Surveyor
(Santa Ana, CA) - The Orange County Board of
Supervisors has appointed Raymond Mathe to the position of County
Surveyor as part of the Resources and Development Management Department
(RDMD). Mathe is a Professional Land Surveyor with 22 years of
experience in government, cadastral and geodetic surveying. The
appointment is effective April 8.
The County Surveyor manages a team of 104 employees and oversees
several units including Geographic Information Systems, Subdivision
Map Checking/Records, Field Survey, Topographic Mapping, and Contract
Administration. This position will also manage geomatics/land information
systems using cutting-edge technology placing Orange County among the
leaders in future digital technology in surveying.
Mathe has worked for the County of Riverside as Deputy County
Surveyor and for the City of Chino Hills as City Surveyor.
Most recently, he was a senior associate at RBF Consulting.
Mathe has 14 years experience as a California Professional Land
Surveyor. He has a bachelor’s degree in workforce education,
training and development from Southern Illinois University at
Carbondale and an associate degree in applied science in surveying
from Riverside Community College.
Mathe served as president of the California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA) in 2003.
