OC Departments Enhance Online Services

(Santa Ana, CA) – Two County departments have launched new online services to better serve the public. The Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA)/Environmental Health Division and RDMD/Harbors Beaches and Parks (HBP) are making it easier for their customers to do business and get to the information they need most.

HCA’s new website provides restaurant inspection violation information on all restaurants operating in Orange County. The new enhancement provides additional useful information for the public to assist in making informed choices. Visit the new website at www.ocfoodinfo.com before dining out.

“This new feature allows the public to search for their favorite restaurant and view inspection history and any violations found during routine checks,” said Patricia Gentry, Program Manager for the Food Protection Program. “Restaurant closures and Award of Excellence recipients are already available online as part of the Food Protection Program's Public Notification System. We hope to better serve the community and communicate with them through this medium.”

Harbors, Beaches & Parks has also enhanced online services to better serve the public. The department has launched its automated parks reservation system enabling the public to reserve picnic shelters, campsites and eventually wedding locations at its various County regional facilities. The best part about the new, improved website is that it will facilitate the process of making reservations. Customers will be able to place a reservation in real time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week by logging on to www.ocparks.com. The public can also call 1.800.600.1600 to place a reservation through the call center.

“HBP’s customer-based philosophy is dedicated to offering value to our clients. For instance, by providing round-the-clock access, the online reservation system will offer ‘anytime, anywhere’ opportunity to customers, moving them from standing in line to being online,” said Mike Brajdic, Special Programs/Parks District Supervisor. “We’re quite happy to report that users find the new system convenient and user-friendly.”
