PROVIDERS (HOME CARE WORKERS)

The OC IHSS Public Authority is always recruiting for Providers (Home Care Workers) to be interviewed, screened and placed onto our Registry to work throughout ALL of Orange County.  Individuals need only to have an interest and willingness to help Seniors and people with disabilities with activities they may not be able to do for themselves, but naturally experience is preferred.  The daily duties of a Provider may vary greatly from person to person depending on who they work for, but may include duties such as: House cleaning, laundry, cooking and clean-up, shopping and other errands like Doctor's visits.  In many cases individuals may need help with personal care such as:  dressing, bathing and assistance with toileting.  However, each Provider can pretty much stipulate what activities they are willing to do for someone, when they are available to work and how far they will travel to work within Orange County.  All Providers are required to submit to a Criminal Background Investigation (CBI) via Livescan Fingerprinting and be cleared from any previous Felonies prior to being placed onto the Registry. All Providers are "hired" by individual IHSS Recipients and not employees of the Public Authority. Wages are currently at $8.40 per hour.  Anyone working more than 80 hours a month for 3 consecutive months and continuing are eligible for Medical/Dental/Vision care through the Union Benefits Medical Trust, although there may be a waiting list of a few months.  For more information please Contact the OC IHSS Public Authority via our website email, click on the Registry Tab of this website or call: (714) 480-6446.
