I want to build an attached patio cover or trellis. Can I use a standard plan?
We are happy to provide our customers with the convenience of standard plans for attached (to a permitted building) patio covers or trellises. However, please note that all patio covers and trellises require Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) approval. If your property is in a high fire hazard severity zone this may significantly impact the construction of the project. For this reason, all plans must first receive OCFA approval and then will be checked by our department. For your convenience, a representative from OCFA is available at our public counter on alternating Thursdays from 8 AM through 12 PM.
