Attention: Until further notice, public access to all Orange County Assessor's Department office locations (Orange, Mission Viejo, and Civic Center-Santa Ana) will be temporarily closed effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

You May Request An Informal Review

The filing period for Informal Assessment Reviews is January 1 to April 30, each year, but the Assessor may review requests submitted after April 30 as time allows.

There is no charge to file a request to have your property value reviewed by the Assessor.

The Assessor will consider the market value of property as of January 1 of the current assessment year. Prior assessment years cannot be reviewed.

Choose the form for your property type. Be sure to provide accurate and complete information.
  • Single-Family, Condo, Townhouse 
  • Multi-Family (Apartment, Triplex, Duplex) 
  • Commercial/Industrial (Retail, Office, Other)
  • Hospitality (Hotel/Motel)

The informal review is not a formal assessment appeal.

A formal assessment appeal may be filed with the Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board between July 2 and no later than November 30.
